Applications are invited only through online mode up to 08.04.2016 for direct recruitment to the vacancies for the years 1996-2008, 2008-09 and 2009-10 for the post of Assistant Jailor in Prison Department.

Age : Minimum 18 years and must not have completed 35 years as on 01.01.2016

Mode of Payment of Examination Fee : (i). Examination fee Rs. 100/-
(ii). Candidates have to register their basic particulars through On—Time Registration shall be valid for a period of five years from the date of one-time registration.
(iii). Candidates have also to pay the service charges applicable to the Bank (State Bank of India or Indian Bank).
(iv). Candidates can avail exemption from paying examination fees as per eligibility criteria.
(v). Offline mode of payment in the form of Demand Draft/Postal Order etc., will not be accepted and the applications forwarded with such modes of payment will be summarily rejected.
(v). Those who have registered in the One-Time Registration system, and paid the registration fee of Rs. 50/- and received the registration ID need not pay the application fee i.e., Rs. 50 /- and it is enough to pay the examination fee alone.
(vi). Candidates who have made One-Time Registration must apply for these notified posts. One-Time Registration in only to avail exemption for application fee for a period of 5 years from the date of Registration.

General Information : (i). The rule of reservation of appointment is applicable to this post.
 (ii). The number of vacancies advertisement is only approximate and is liable for modification with reference to vacancy position at any time before finalization of selection for Oral Test.
(iii). The selection for appointment to the above said post is purely provisional subject to final orders on pending writ Petitions, if any, filed in Madras High Court and High Court of Madurai Bench.
(iv). Applications containing wrong claims relating to other basic qualifications/eligibility age/category of reservation/educational qualification will be liable for rejection.

Other Important Instructions : (i). Candidates should ensure their eligibility for examination : The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to examination. Their admission to all stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying of the eligibility conditions. Mere issue of memo of admission to the candidates will not imply that his/her candidature has been fully cleared by the Commission.
(ii). The Hall Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in the Commission’s website  for downloading by candidates. No Hall Tickets will be sent by post. So, The candidates should watch TNPSC website ahead/before the scheduled date of examination.
Note : (i). For Main Written Examination, the Commission reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of Examination Centers and re-allot the candidates as decided by Commission.
(ii). Candidates will be required to appear for the Main Written Examination/Oral Test/Certificate verification at their own expenses.
(iii). Request for change of centre will not be complied with.
(iv). In respect of the question paper-I will be sent both in Tamil and in English.
(v). In respect of the question paper-II, General Studies will be sent both in English and Tamil and the questions on General Tamil and General English will be set in the respective language.
